A Manhattan attorney is the first to sue the city for $20 million in a
proposed class-action case after he lost 700 boxes of files in a seven-alarm
fire that engulfed a Williamsburg warehouse last week.

Lawyer Robert Vilensky, who has represented victims of the 2013 Metro-North
derailment and last year’s deadly gas explosion in Harlem, filed a notice
