Hi everyone -
This may seem like a silly question. Most of my experience is as an
manuscript archivist, so I am more comfortable with record boxes and
document cases than filing cabinets. The institutional archive & record
collection that I have inherited has used both. We are relocating the
collection this summer, and I see this as a good time to reconsider housing.
I can see using filing cabinets for managing records that are
semi-inactive, like those on retention schedules or that may grow
considerably. But couldn't I also just allow for growth by leaving an empty
record box or two in succession on the shelf?
Thank you for your help with this!
