Premier Christy Clark has stated that legal authority for the 2012 firings
rested with the deputy minister of health.

But the NDP released documents October 29 showing that when it asked the
Health Ministry for any records sent or received by former deputy Graham
Whitmarsh or his replacement, Stephen Brown, from May 2012 to July 2014,
the government released just one heavily censored email.

“How is it possible that two deputy ministers of health managed to keep
just one record on the firing of eight health researchers?” asked NDP MLA
Katrine Conroy.

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
