The best trees are the ones anyone had as a kid--whatever the specie or source.

My father and I would go to my Uncle Carl's ranch and cut down two or three "cedars" before deciding on the right tree. I used to feel bad about wasting the trees until I understood that they were scrub sucking water that could be better used for grass and cattle.
