RIM and PM, an EDM Case Study

Presented by Andrew Penta CRM, CDIA+, of Clark County General Services, and
Mike Sprinkle, of Clark County Information Technology

The November, 2015 chapter meeting presentation topic was “Five Essential
Project Management Skills for RM and IG Professionals”. This month’s
presentation will pick up where that discussion left off by adding a look
at an actual, on-going example of records management and IT project
management collaboration occurring at Clark County.

Andrew Penta is the Clark County Records Officer and one of his duties is
acting as administrator of an enterprise document management system. This
Oracle IPM 10g software is no longer supported by its manufacturer and must
be replaced. The beginnings of this project date back for over two years,
but for the past six months, this effort has been led by IT Program Manager
Mike Sprinkle.

Andrew and Mike will describe the goals and objectives, requirements,
planning, teamwork, and issues involved in this project to bring a new
enterprise document management system to the county.
