This month's meeting kicks off with a free workshop sponsored by TAB,
followed by a presentation by Scott Ward of Caterpillar. We hope to see you
there!
*11:15am-11:45am: FREE Workshop: Case Study- The 9 Elements of a Successful
Imaging Project*
This free workshop is presented by TAB, with a special drawing for
attendees of the workshop!

*12:00pm: Data Maps- A Case Study by Scott Ward, CRM*
How easy is it to locate digital records and information across your
organization? We all know the value of information is directly
proportional to its accessibility. If you cannot find it in time it will
have zero value, or worse you may be sanctioned or fined. Is there a
master index of software applications, data bases, and shared drive storage
space, based on your retention schedule or the fundamental business
activity being performed? Is there a master list at all? A good data map
will help you find your information quickly and efficiently. Come and see a
real life example of a color encoded, geo-spatial, data map. And hear the
story of how it originated and continues to evolve.
Scott Ward, CRM is the Corporate Records and Information Manager for
Caterpillar. Currently implementing the new Program for Records and
Information Management (PRIM) in eight of the 30 divisions of Caterpillar
keeps him busy in addition to developing data maps. After establishing
successful RIM programs in several industries in different regions of the
US he settled in MN for 17 years and worked with software products,
consulted, and then established RIM programs at Wells Fargo and Ameriprise
Financial before joining Caterpillar and moving to Peoria, IL.
