In the Marines I worked on a Xenix network with dumb terminals with metal
keys. I still strike way harder than most people when I type as a result.
After I got out, I went to work for a company that did, among other things,
gopher server hosting. Sometimes in classes I tell people that you could
use Veronica to find gopher servers and then Archie to download files and
there is a distinct age/geek filter between those who remember and those
who look at me like I'm speaking in tongues. :)
I left that company to join a fledgling ECM company and if I recall
correctly we used Netware. I don't use DR-DOS but I do still have a DOS
emulator on this very laptop that I use to run all the old, great DOS games
like Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, and Master of Magic. DOSBox for anyone
similarly inclined.
