We are proud to announce an updated outline for Parts 2 and 3 of the CRM Exam. The way
we create, store, and manage records has drastically changed over the years. Even though
the ICRM continuously updates questions on the exams, the outlines for Parts 2 and 3
required updating as well.

Candidates can anticipate using the updated outline (referenced below) in preparation for
new questions for Parts 2 and 3 starting the February 2017 exam cycle.

Part 2 - Records and Information Creation and Use
Pertains to the creation, production, distribution and use of records and information on
paper, electronic and all other media. It covers the documentation of business transactions
and activities, as well as the development of a framework to identify properly and classify
records at the point of creation. This section also addresses the importance of applying
information security, privacy rules, and regulatory requirements to records and information,
regardless of how it?s created and used.

Part 3 - Record Storage, Retrieval, Conversion, and Facilities
Storing and retrieving records and information has evolved over the years. A record facility
is no longer just a warehouse; it can also be a cloud solution, data center, online or near-
line, and as well as a warehouse. A deep understanding of record storage, record types,
retrieval, search, eDiscovery, conversion, and facilities used to store and host records, is
essential for managing records during their entire lifecycle.

Please remember, the next two exams August and November 2016 will be given based on
the current outline, exam preparation resources. You may reference the updated outline for
Parts 2 and 3 on the ICRM website www.icrm.org. Again, candidates can anticipate using
the updated outline in preparation for new questions for Parts 2 and 3 starting the February
2017 exam cycle.
