Great questions/comments....I wonder will the caretakers of such vital information be able to continually have access to this historical info in media formats that are compatible/accessible or will it come down to budgetary axes of an increasingly "attention deficit(ed) bureaucratic culture", let's say a hundred or so years from, now, will the drive and importance of conserving and preserving "historical" data be as important with constant technological leaps. Quite the quandary, with far reaching ramifications, and will those given such responsibility uphold its historical value....some preservations MUST be mandated and planned for regardless of "regime" (meaning administrative and/or technological) changes.

At least I hope (from a perfect world, viewpoint).

Good Weekend to all,

Ralph B. Cooper

This is exactly why I asked the question: Why delete the data at all (in my previous email)? The fact is that historic information can be extremely useful for many reasons.

My Best,

Frank
