Baron, Esq., Of Counsel, Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, and Co-chair of the Information Governance Initiative [https://cdn.evbuc.com/eventlogos/11434189/jasonbaron.jpg] IG Workshop: Developing and Maturing an Information Governance Program: The primary focus of this two-part workshop is to engage all participants in group exercises that will highlight key challenges in developing an IG program within their respective organizations. The workshop, will explore the current “siloed” approach to IG within organizations, and begin identifying key facets of IG, including what constitute stakeholder interests and “lines of sight.” We will also brainstorm about key issues for an IG committee to tackle given the state of the world in 2017, drawing on recent “ripped from the headlines” scandals, investigations, and lawsuits. Subject to consensus in the room, we can expect to focus on such issues as data breaches, EU Privacy Shield issues, internal threat monitoring, autocategorization and remediation projects, and the problem of shadow IT (e.g., what to do with the employee with a private email server in the basement).
