Greetings,

We are rolling out an electronic document and records management system across the City and need to invest in scanners. A few years ago the City moved towards using office-wide multifunction printer/copiers, but now we need to provide individual desktop scanners to staff who will be using the EDMS most regularly. I am interested in insights on scanners, both high volume production and desktop models (for those who will not be batch scanning but will scan directly into our system).

In Records, we have a Fujitsu fi-6770. We are happy with it, but many departments will not need such robust scanners so I am looking for input on much more moderately priced production scanners (under $3,000).

Additionally, for day to day scanning on the fly, the City had started purchasing the Fujitsu ScanSnap but it is not compatible with our EDMS. Does anyone use the HP Scanjet Pro 3000s2 or Canon imageFormula DR-C225.

I have been tasked with providing some recommendations to IT.

Thank you!
