"I was just advised yesterday that our company is in the middle of rolling out Office 365 to the organization, starting with email. Found out as I'm being scheduled to migrate in the next couple of weeks.
My question is - when doing some due diligence yesterday, that included the archives, most of the material I found was a bit dated( 2014-2015). Is there anything newer that I can look at, are the concerns the same and/or has Microsoft addressed the concerns/challenges brought up In the material from a RIM standpoint?"

Steve:

Good morning. I hope you are well. Like your organization, mine migrated from Gmail to O365 last year. I kind of fell into the entire process because I was the new kid on the block when I started last September. Which system are you migrating from and what enterprise level of O365 are you purchasing? The higher the enterprise level the greater the functionality, especially from an e-discovery perspective. Also, the higher the licensing cost. One issue we ran into was the data migration from Gmail. Are you migrating any data over and if so, how much? We found out very quickly that the data migration was very expensive and a slow process as Microsoft would only do a certain amount each day. We have retention assigned within the O365 environment but I would say that O365 is still RIM light, at least for our deployment.

Regards, Steve
