I regards to the election. I received my Email from ARMA yesterday. I
encourage everyone to ask questions of potential leaders, but most of all
to get out there and vote.

As far at the issues facing ARMA and Records Management, number one on my
list is how will ARMA work to promote and develop educational
opportunities for new and existing RM professionals? With the exception of
the International conferences, and local chapter meetings and a few
smatterings of things out there, there is a tremendous void. There is an
absence of university level programs. Such programs would give the
profession more of the credibility and credence it deserves and insures
future generations of individuals in RIM a solid future. ARMA needs to do
a MUCH better job of partnering not only with RIM professionals, but with
educational institutions to develop such programs. There are many
qualified professionals with many years of experience that should be
solicited and engaged to participate in such an endeavor. The longer we
wait, the more we miss opportunities for the future of this profession.
Please consider this and ask these sorts of questions of current and
potential leaders for the board.
