Barb and others -

The vast majority of messages will be on topic today and tomorrow.
Still, I have known many fine people who served in the USMC, including
co-workers in Records Management. While refraining from a protracted
commentary, I am sure that you in British Columbia as I used to do in
Ontario are wearing your poppy for tomorrow. Whether it is Veterans'
Day as here or Remembrance Day in the Great White North, or the USMC
birthday, the Canadian tag line that always went with veterans selling
poppies is equally applicable..."Lest We Forget..."

There will be lots of times...entire days, weeks and months...when none
of this comes up. As for today and tomorrow, happy birthday to the
Corps, and those who served in all branches across North America will
not be forgotten.

God bless your son. He represents the finest attitude and action by
giving up several years of his life, at the least..., to represent and
defend his country. Bless also the fine sailors, airmen & airwomen,
and soldiers who fight for freedom here and abroad. From the halls of
Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, with lots of other stops on every
continent.

He is the current generation of US military...; who bought the right of
free speech, to protest according to one's convictions, to worship
according to beliefs, and to hold your head up high and be proud of your
accomplishments.

God bless your son.

In a former life...; Sgt. Steve Whitaker
