The whitepaper also states: 
"At the same time, Microsoft is working very closely with its most
important partners and they will continue to provide sophisticated
vertical solutions and add value on top of the Microsoft platform."

Open Text announced at their "LinkUp" user conference that their
LiveLink RM product was selected as a MS partner.  I saw demos of
Livelink RM working with SharePoint.
