One of the key aspects in the recent improvement of service at VA hospitals
is their use of electronic medical records.

Hi Trudy,

There may be isolated anectodal incidents, but the overwhelming trend I am
seeing is the exact opposite. Don't know what that vendor is selling
(offsite storage of paper?) but I think about any conference you go to, any
hospitals you talk to, they're moving in the direction of *less* paper, not
more.

Cheers,

I just have to ask this question as I really cannot believe it.

I had a vendor recently tell me that many medical facilities (hospitals and
physician offices) are pulling the plug on their document imaging systems
due to the high costs of maintaining them, etc. Going back to paper.

Do any of you see this happening?
