Yes John you are in the right track.  Burning as opposed to the problematic
shredding of this material came quickly to my mind as when I ran a records
center a while back, the majority of our destruction was through burning at
the local waste-to-energy plant.

Bob - For the cost of fax machines these days, he would be better off 
getting rid of the machine.  I know those machines and the cartridges are 
very expensive to buy.  If he went to a new machine with a toner 
cartridge, he would pay for the machine in no time.  For the carbon 
paper....does he have a fireplace?
