Re destruction of Fax Carbon Paper - additional comment

The type of destruction is dependent on the level of confidentiality of the content and/or the medium.  You also have to consider that certain types of shredder blades (i.e. cross cut) are rated for a certain security level.  Depending on the medium, various types of destruction methods could be applied.  For paper you can use chemicals, burning, shredding, burying, pulping and/or mashing down to the fibres, etc.  For certain electronic mediums there are other methods such as degaussing, reformatting, cutting, burning, chemicals etc.  

If it was me I would burn the carbon paper or check with your archivist as to what is recommended in your State.  Maybe shredding would suffice. Cheers.
