(I do love being in a community that catches me when my mind and typing
is lazy and makes me think!)
First thank you so much for the responses. I was far too broad in my
question. My team is not doing the actual scanning, although it is being
done in house. So let me set the stage more accurately: the 4 of us are
working on the same floor of the building in close proximity. The
documents are batch scanned, attached metadata in Versatile and given a
bar code label. They are then boxed up and sent to us. We are
responsible for having the original in hand and opening each pdf and
checking for errors. We flag errors, tag oversized items and insert
pages for anything that is not clear on the original. Right now we just
grab a box or 6, and do our own thing with the records we have. We are
looking for any suggestions that might expedite our haphazard system.
The amount of backlog right now is well over a thousand actual scanned
images.
