The Palm Beach County School District, headquartered in beautiful West
Palm Beach, Florida, is the 11th largest school district in the U.S.,
with 165 schools, 170,000 students, and 21,000 employees.  The School
District is advertising for a Records Management Specialist, which is a
full-time, 12-month position with full benefits.  This vacancy is also

RECORDS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST


 

Functions/Duties:

1.                   Directs the School District's records management
program to comply with the requirements in Florida Statutes. 

2.                   Develops policies and procedures in accordance with
all applicable statutes and regulations pertinent to records management,
forms management, document imaging, and electronic forms. 

3.                   Serves as the Records Management Liaison Officer
(RMLO) between the School District and the Florida Department of State.

4.                   Provides guidance, training, and information to
school principals and department heads regarding records and forms
creation, design, maintenance, filing, retention, and disposal
requirements. 

5.                   Evaluates records needs and plans and implements
improved systems for the creation, use, maintenance, retention and
approved disposal of School District records in all types of media. 

6.                   Manages contract with outsourced inactive records
storage vendor and supervises inventory and daily accessions/retrievals.

7.                   Manages a document imaging system for the efficient
scanning of student records and other long-term retention and/or high
volume records, according to requirements. 

8.                   Develops, coordinates, and supervises a
district-wide forms management program according to Florida Statutes.

9.                   Serves as Staff Advisor for the School District's
Forms Review Committee.

10.               Implements programs, policies, and procedures in
accordance with School Board priorities.

 

Qualifications:

1.                   Bachelor's degree in records management,
information systems, business administration, library science, or
related field.

2.                   Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation
preferred.

3.                   Successful experience in directing a large, complex
records management program which includes records retention scheduling,
inactive records storage, forms management, and document imaging system.

4.                   Evidence of effective written and verbal
communication skills commensurate with performance responsibilities.

 

Salary Range: $61,200-$88,412
