Of course the responses below were exactly what I anticipated (with many
thanks to those who responded):
Developing a policy and schedule is expensive (in time and out of pocket
costs), and they are normally considered proprietary and confidential.
If you paid a consultant, it's unlikely that your firm will want to hand
out the created documents.
Consultants and software are available, and something to keep in mind.

I got one retention schedule, which seems very complete and an excellent
resource.  I think the listservs block attachments, so I didn't attempt
it.

Question: Can I ask you how you have classified your records (subject
vs. functional)?  And what the classification codes you used are?
Answer: Functional for administrative; subject for client files.  I
think - we are still in the beginning.

Question: Are you researching format or content, or both?
Answer: Both.  We're at the beginning of the process, trying to get a
handle on it all.
