Greetings all: I have not been on the listserve for some time so I will
update you on my adventures. For those new to the listserve, I have been
an ARMA member for many years - okay like 25..... and am also an
attorney and had been doing consulting with Cohasset Associates focusing
on legal issues surrounding electronic records (can you say federal
rules of civil procedure) and discovery. As you can see by my title,
I am now the manager of Information Management, a department that
includes records management, document control and procedures. I am
working for a brand new company in Hobbs, New Mexico, Louisiana Energy
Services, which is a subsidiary of a European company, URENCO. We are
in the process of building the first commercial uranium enrichment
facility to be licensed by the NRC in 30 years. So, I am building
programs from the ground up - an exciting and sometimes frustrating
experience!! Of course, the weather here is much better than Buffalo,
NY - well, maybe not today, since it is 24 degrees and we are expecting
snow tonight, but overall, a much shorter winter than 3-4 months in
Buffalo!
What I am looking for from this illustrious group is information on
Document Control training. I am in need of training individuals on
document control methodology and would like to know how your companies
train these individuals - other than on-the-job training. Is there
some class you have taken or instructor that was fabulous that you might
recommend? Any information you could provide would be most helpful.
Thanks.
