I have advocated within my organization that "DM," should refer to "draft" not "document" management.  Once something is final and therefore a document, it should be declared a record if appropriate.

Folks I would like to impose on you to ask you what you think the differences are between Document Management and Records Management.  This beast has reared its ugly head once again.
