After one of the "F" hurricanes in the late 90's, Fran or Floyd, I
can't
remember which one, our records group had to support some disaster
recovery
efforts at one of our locations.

As we were going through our recovery efforts and placing boxes on
pallets,
we had to wait for a forklift certified employee to MOVE the pallets
around
for us. As their efforts were more directed to the operations of the
plant, we found ourselves hindered that we couldn't do this ourselves.

During our lessons learned activities, we decided we would become
forklift
certified to allow us to be more self-sufficient in the the event there
was
a similar scenario in the future.

Plus it's something else to add to the resume!
