Alberta's privacy commissioner has ruled it was inappropriate for a
Calgary-based energy company and the province's energy regulator to post
personal information about children online.
West Energy Ltd. and the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB)
violated the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP)
and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) by publishing
sensitive information about kids on the EUB's website last summer, Wayne
Wood, a spokesman for the commissioner's office, said yesterday.
