Tough to say John.  ARMA plans the dates and selects the venues at minimum 5
years in advance, so it's hard to believe this was accidental, but I'm also
sure it wasn't done in an insensitive or uncaring manner.

I would think Canadian Thanksgiving would have been noticed, but Columbus
Day may not have weighed in as heavily in the consideration unless the venue
was a city that seriously celebrates it as a "Holiday", like San Francisco.
True, it is listed as a Federally observed holiday, but I've never worked
for an employer that counted it in the list of paid holidays.
