I'll see yer trivia and raise you one. ;) During the 2002 rewrite of the
CDIA, CompTIA elected to change the name of it from Certified Document
Imaging Architech (TM), funky spelling and all, to CDIA+. This was both to
bring it in line with the rest of CompTIA's branding (A+, Network+,
Project+, etc.) and because it was simply too wordy and cutesy. So
technically today it doesn't stand for anything - just like AIIM and ARMA
are no longer really acronyms for something but stand on their own as AIIM
International and ARMA International respectively.

Finally, as a bonus, TAWPI stands for The Association for Work Process
Improvement. It is one of the few associations (or proper nouns for that
matter) that include The as a formal part of the name (and acronym); this
caused us issues during the rewrite of the ARMA Glossary of Records and
Information Management Terms, 3rd Edition, because it kept getting
re-alphabetized to the start of the glossary as Association for Work Process
Improvement, The.

Cheers on an absolutely amazing 75-degree Colorado day,

Jesse "Charter subscriber to Certification Magazine" Wilkins
