CAPM stands for Certified Associate in Project Management. I consider
it "PMP Light." The CRM was much more difficult to attain than the
PMP but I am finding, especially in my current position, holding the
PMP is just as important.

I've been a PMP since 2002 and like Carol, pursued the credential
because the positions I've held require some type of project
management experience. I use principals I learned all the time. In
addition the educational and networking opportunities are tremendous.
The Orange County chapter alone has over 1,600 members, many of whom
work in either IT or IT related positions. And, as Carol alluded to,
the SIGs (Specific Interest Groups, similar is nature to the former
ISGs in ARMA) are extremely active. I am a member of the Healthcare
SIG and really enjoy the networking opportunities with others in the
health care industry.
