*A JOURNALIST says he asked a State archivist in February last year to
check with the Crime and Misconduct Commission if it had intended to
release sensitive Fitzgerald inquiry documents he accessed. *

Steve Bishop, former premier Peter Beattie's media adviser, said documents
he saw included inquiry commissioner Tony Fitzgerald's personal notebook,
with his comments about witnesses.
