Granted it has been a few years since I took the exams, but I used the study guide on the ICRM website and a couple textbooks. One I bought and still have. The other I borrowed from my local ARMA Chapter lending library. I did participate in a study group, but really only studied for the one exam I didn't pass first time out. 

You can request a mentor from the ICRM. I believe you have to be a CRM candidate at that point.

And you can always ask questions here. We'll all either learn or remember.
