Hi All,

This is my first post and I hope to tap into the collective expertise of
the subscribers in the field. I am a Library Services Consultant based in
the Los Angeles area and I have an exciting opportunity to discuss with job
seekers in your field. My firm is a woman-owned small business enterprise
that specializes in government libraries and info management solutions.

I am looking for an experienced Records Management professional to
subcontract with my firm on a three year contract position with a high
profile government agency in LA. ***Demonstrated knowledge of the
California Public Records Act is key.*** The work will take place during
regular business hours, 8-5 and sometimes you will get out and about to
work at offsite locations. The pay will be competitive and you will get

*Records & Information Analyst - Contract (3 years)**Location: Los Angeles*

Records & Information Management Analyst needed in a high-profile
government agency in Los Angeles to maintain compliance with the California
Public Records Act, perform departmental audits, and carry out the Records
Management program policies necessary to keep pace with high demand for
access to agency records. This is a contract position, for a three year
term with competitive pay, paid holidays and sick time and a great working
environment. Work is primarily onsite, near downtown LA, but sometimes you
will get out and about to visit other sites. It's going to be a fun and
interesting endeavor working with great people. The contract is likely to
have an early July 2016 start date.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
*Support all service functions of the Records and Information Management
unit to ensure compliance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA);
Analyze information being requested and provide guidance to requestors for
correct information sources as required by the CPRA;
*Research and compose written responses to all CPRA requests and legal
subpoenas within legally proscribed timeframes; monitor those responses,
and analyze all future requests for similar information to ensure
consistent application of records policies;
*Confer with agency legal counsel and insurance administrators on a regular
basis regarding legal availability, source, confidentiality, and redaction
of information being requested;
*Interact with agency staff at all levels, consultants, counsel to identify
sources and coordinate retrieval and release of information and documents;

*REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE*
* Theories, principles, and practices of information disclosure under the
California Public Records Act and other state and federal records law,
including confidential and security sensitive information;
*Devise and analyze record-keeping, document and data tracking systems;
Ascertain and maintain confidential and security sensitive information;
Prioritize work to meet various deadlines, including court and legally
mandated timeframes;
*Analyze complex information, identify problems and recommend solutions;
Exercise sound judgment and creativity in making conclusions;
*Think and act independently;
*Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures;
*Prepare reports and correspondence;
*Interact professionally with various levels of agency employees, Counsel
and outside representatives;
*Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
*Read, write, speak, and understand English; and,
*Produce accurate search results on complex searches from multiple
information systems.

*EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:*
*3 years’ experience in records management or document management, library
services, or paralegal work OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND 1
year experience in records or document management, library services, or
paralegal work
*Master’s degree in Records Management, Library Science, Information
Studies, Business, Public Administration, or related field desirable ARMA
or NARA certification, and/or paralegal experience is highly desirable
*Demonstrated knowledge of the California Public Records Act Valid
California Class C driver’s license
