Steve,
We are just beginning to look at using this more. Here is the description I
got about a "data lake". It doesn't actually move or copy the record, it
pulls the data from the record. While yes it can pull from structured and
unstructured, the unstructured has to be semi-formatted such as a text fi
file, flat file, spreadsheets or any comma delimited document. It can't go ou
out and OCR PDFs or any other unformatted document unless it is first co
converted to a text file. You can do relational queries much like SQL but it is
is on raw data, not tables or databases. Referred to as Hives it Hive Query La
Language (HDL).
