Yes. Information Mis-management for your IG Program
While the prevalence of information mismanagement should be appalling to
info professionals, it paradoxically offers us a powerful tool for
advancing our programs. Info is mismanaged due to accidents, poor corporate
processes and system controls, negligence, and malicious and criminal
intent.
This presentation will provide an analysis of info mismanagement in the
aggregate. It will assess and categorize info mismanagement events as they
relate to The Principles and how this relationship provides a foundation
for more aggressively promoting the ethical aspects of RIM and IG within
your organization. It will cover applications of mismanagement cases to IG
communications, tailoring the message for specific audiences. Such
communication demonstrates to senior executives that devastating headlines
are never far away and to corporate colleagues that info mismanagement is
an epidemic with serious implications.

George Despres has over 25 years of experience in the information
management profession. He is Program Director for Records Management at
Brandeis University. George has a Masters Degree in Library and Information
Science and is a Certified Records Manager. He writes freelance content for
Iron Mountain, presents and facilitates workshops on records and
information management topics, and authors the Brandeis Records Manager
Blog. He currently serves as Education Director for ARMA Boston.
