only if the law firm is subject to SEC jurisdiction. Seriously I
highly recommend that folks obtain John Montana's work "The Sarbanes
Oxley Act: Implications for Records Management" and the 2004
supplement. both are available from the ARMA Bookstore. these
publications will get you up to speed on SOX.

SOX in many ways is the Y2K/HIPAA d'jour. Lots of things are
attributed to SOX that aren't even in the law or regulations. Some IT
folks say that SOX requires elaborate password configurations - sorry
no it doesn't. Be skeptical when someone says SOX requires X. When
they say that ask them to point out the specific section or regulation
that they found the requirement in.
