Diana,
For clarification purposes, it's probably fair to point out to this
community that Oracle has had a specific records management offering since
2005 for unstructured data, which you can read more about or download and
test the product on:

Subject: [RM] Oracle Software
Introduction: Our company is a generation and transmission electric
utility. We have three locations with central records centers at each.
We presently use several different software packages for different
applications. We are at the point where our present software packages
need either upgraded or replaced. It was decided that we should pursue
seeing if there was a software that was totally integrated that could
fit the majority of our needs and to hire a consultant to assist us in
this determination.
The consultant did a, what they refer to, as a fit gap determination to
determine what areas Oracle software could work for us.
I have been told (1) Oracle does not have a Records Management software
to manage records not created in their enterprise asset, financial,
human resources, and other software applications, (2) Oracle software
does not have the capabilities to apply retention criteria to any
electronic records and electronic records are 'never' purged but are
placed in an inactive status that can be reversed to active.
I would like to visit with someone that has experience with Oracle from
the records perspective. I can be contacted at [log in to unmask]
