Whew ... Thanks Katie...

Glenn ... I can't count the number of times that "I assumed" something had
been completed at work and then find out it hadn't. So I rarely use the
word as it had a nasty connotation for me.

You just keep conjecturing, estimating, expecting, etc., and I'll continue
to read your messages as they provide us on this side of the big pond some
insight on records management from your perspective.

See even the word "Cheers" has a connotation to me. When I hear the word I
automatically think of raising a pint of ale and toasting something in the
English pubs, or for that matter anyplace that serves a good pint.

I don't claim to be an expert in Australia's wonderfully creative humour
or slang expressions, but I've not heard that interpretation of 'assume',
so it must be indigenous to your side of the Pacific. In future I'll
conjecture, estimate, expect, guess, hypothesize, imagine, posit,
postulate, presuppose, speculate, suppose, or theorize instead.

Cheers

Glenn

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any
previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked
and they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Harry Peck & Co and
Glenn". Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
