The City of Austin has 2 records analyst positions being filled.

Position Description
Provides records management services to all City offices
Drafts records control schedules and appraisal reports for City records
Develops and implements classification, filing and document management
systems Develops policies and standards
Provides records management advice and assistance
Assists departments to implement records management plans.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of record-keeping operations
in city departments.
2. Develop and implement record keeping, indexing, archival, retention,
disposal, and classification systems for City records.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of records management
policies, standards, and procedures.
4. Provide program and technical information regarding record
management.
5. Coordinate the disposition of City records.
6. Plan, develop, and present training programs to record custodians for
the City.
7. Recommend system enhancements to departments.
8. Provide emergency backup for the operations of the Austin Records
Center.
9. Ensure compliance with local government codes and the provisions of
the Local Government Records Act of 1989.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in History, Library Science, Business, Information
Science, or field related to area supported.  Plus 3 years of records
management experience.  A Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of
the required experience.  Any combination of education and/or work
experience will substitute for minimum qualifications.
