It is remarkable how much traffic this has caused (mine included).  Those of you with strictly favorable notions regarding RAIN, don't take this as a criticism of the content, more a criticism of the method.  Perhaps this subject would hit less of a nerve if RAIN were an opt-in rather than an opt-out.  I think this could be done rather easily if it were put out on RSS rather than on the listserv.  That way if you are interested in reading records news according to the editor, you just subscribe to the RAIN RSS.  Just a thought.
