Hi all,

If you haven't heard about Wikinomics yet, you will. Wikinomics is a new
book that argues that mass collaboration will drive significant changes in a
number of areas. The book talks about what wikis are, how they work, and how
organizations are using them today to lower the cost of collaboration. As
you might expect, the book is linked to a wiki; as you might NOT expect, the
purpose of the wiki is to finish writing the book!

I have blogged a bit about Wikinomics and the Wikinomics wiki at
http://informata.blogspot.com/2007/01/wikinomics-wiki-is-up.html; you can
also find more buzz about wikis in general and Wikinomics specifically at
http://www.wikinomics.com/blog/buzz.php. The wiki is hosted by Socialtext
(http://www.socialtext.net), who also hosts the Speakers Wiki I have
mentioned previously. Ross Mayfield is the CEO of Socialtext and has a
pretty interesting blog himself at http://ross.typepad.com/blog/.

Full disclosure: I have no link to, nor interests in, the success of the
book, but I am working my way through it and think it's pretty interesting.
I will also be writing an article later this year on wikis and RM for AIIM
EDOC Online (http://www.edocmagazine.com). And if you click on my blog post,
both instances of the title of the book will take you to Amazon, where I
*do* have a modest financial interest. But buy it at BN or Borders as well.
:)

Regards,
