We have a Spacesaver system and love it. It has a battery override which we have needed to use a few times while waiting for the vendor to come. The most important thing about high density filing system from my viewpoint is a level floor (which the vendor will do), a way to override the system, and a vendor who will support the installation with training and follow up calls in a timely manner. Both Aurora and Spacesaver are good systems.

Subject: [RM] High Density file room

Good afternoon all.

I am an occasional lurker on the RecMgmt list and now have a question, the
answer to which, I was not able to find on the archives.

We are a large law firm in the midst of a build out for a new office. We
have decided to install a high density file room in our new space and
allocate less space for decentralized files (we are reducing from 96,000 sq
ft to 73,000). Our architects have a preferred vendor who provides a
Spacesaver system. We have a competing bid from a vendor with whom we have
done business in the past who would provide a system from Aurora.

I've been told that the Spacesaver product is significantly better in
quality then any other high density system on the market.

My question, then, is;

What makes for a quality high density storage solution, and which
manufacturers would you recommend?

Thanks for your replies

Dana.
