Aloha Everyone!

It's my pleasure to announce ARMA-Hawaii Chapter's annual seminar on May
9th featuring
noted authority and consultant, Alan Andsolsen, CMC, CRM.  
 
In his "Document Imaging: Soup To Nuts" Workshop, Mr Andolsen will
discuss document imaging from assessment, requirements, & justification
to scanning.  The seminar will focus on how to implement an imaging
project and what to account for in your planning process.  Topics to be
discussed are:
* Assessment
* Requirements & Justification
* Vendor Evaluation & Selection
* International Standards
* System Design
* Quality Assurance
* Implementation Oversight
* System Audit
* "Best Practices" for:
         1) indexing,
         2) capture,
         3) verification,
         4) tracking,
         5) different access views by type of user,
         6) exception tracking work queues and
         7) reporting
* Quantification of benefits and cost justification
* Conversions and backfile scanning
* Scanner selection
* Centralized vs. decentralized scanning

As a bonus, the seminar will also feature a keynote by Brian Moriki,
Assistant Vice President-Records Management, First Hawaiian Bank on
"Buying a New CAR" and a closing panel discussion with Mr. Moriki, Mr.
Andolsen, and Mr. Rob Hardisty, from Century Computers, Inc.

Alan A. Andolsen is a Certified Management Consultant, Certified Records
Manager, and President of Naremco Services Inc., a management consulting
firm that has been providing information management services since 1948.

Mr. Andolsen has focused his consulting efforts on the creation of
office systems that recognize the diversity of human capabilities and
the potential of emerging technologies as well as conserve an
organization's resources. During the past two decades, he has pioneered
practical techniques for the management of digital records and lectured
on their application in Japan, China, Europe, and throughout the United
States and Canada. In addition, he has lectured on business ethics at
the University of Dayton, Rutgers and Monmouth Universities, and
presented papers on business ethics topics in Poland, Slovenia, and
Greece.

Mr. Andolsen received an AB degree magna cum laude from Borromeo College
of Ohio and an MA degree from the University of Dayton. He also studied
at John Carroll and Notre Dame Universities, and worked toward the
doctorate at Vanderbilt University.
