The United States District Court ruling for "Doe v. Norwalk Community
College", filed on July 16th, 2007, ought to be "like a fire bell in the
night". I encourage those who have an interest in electronic discovery
to read and consider the opinion and how your organization record
keeping systems and policies/procedures stacks up along side Norwalk
Community College, especially those of you in government. You can find
the opinion on a number of websites.

There is no excuse for any organization not to have a "litigation hold"
policy and to take electronic discovery seriously. The hind parts you
save may very well be your own.
