 2007 Excellence Awards

Well known international identity, Barbara Reed, has taken out the 2007 J
Eddis Linton Awards for the most outstanding individual. Barbara is a
recognised industry leader with more than 20 years practical experience in
consulting, working in collaboration with information technology specialists
and management consultants. Barbara’s biggest contribution to the
profession has been through her standards work and for her academic
research.

Natalie Goodban was awarded the Student of the Year. Natalie completed her
Masters in Information Management at Curtin University in December 2006
demonstrating a strong academic achievement.

The award for the most outstanding group went to Government Recordkeeping
Branch of State Records Authority of NSW for their Government Recordkeeping
Program.

The Jim Shepherd Award, awarded to a vendor in recognition of trade support
to the RMAA and the records and information management industry went to
Recall Australia.

The last award for Excellence in 2007 was the Objective IQ Article of the
year award, which was presented to Amanda Cossham and Kerri Siatiras for the
article “Developing a Sector-Wide General Disposal Authority: A District
Health Boards of New Zealand Case Study”.

RMAA President Kemal Hasandedic said: “The Excellence Awards judging process
is tough and competition is strong, so winning an award is a great
achievement. The unprecedented amount and outstanding quality of entries
this year demonstrates the good work being done in the industry. The
individuals, group and article winning awards have all demonstrated a clear
understanding of the central role records and information management plays
in the success of an organisation and the ways in which it can contribute to
society.”

The winners of the 2007 RMAA Excellence Awards were announced at the
International Convention in Wellington, New Zealand on Monday 10 September.
