Subject: ERM / EDM Soft Metrics

All,

My organisation is currently deploying an ERM / EDM solution and I am interested in gathering metrics that will help demonstrate the value of these implementations. As many of the benefits realized by the deployment are "soft" I am finding it challenging to discern meaningful metrics to show this. Presently, I can demonstrate initial success through achievement of client critical success factors and anecdotes that illustrate time savings and increased sharability. However, I do not have a formal framework in place that can be used across future implementations.

I have considered establishing a baseline with the client before the tool is implemented and then following up to see how things have changed after the tool is put in use. However, this is very time consuming and relies on the stability of the client (i.e. if the client changes before I can measure "post implementation" then my data set is unreliable).

Does anyone have a framework or body of metrics they would be willing to share?

Much appreciated,

Sean.
