Nor is AIIM for that matter. "

ARMA and AIIM may claim that their names are no longer acronyms, but
from a practical perspective, it's just not true. Typical conversation:

Q: What's that meeting you're going to?
A: It's a seminar that ARMA is sponsoring?
Q: Who's ARMA?
A: They're the records management professionals.
Q: But, what does 'ARMA' stand for?

Possible answers:

Option 1: It doesn't stand for anything.
Option 2: The association of records managers and administrators.

One can expand on option 1 as far as one chooses, but without including
the information in option 2, the questioner is never going to get
satisfaction.

When I submit reimbursement claims to my employer for ARMA/AIIM
activities, they always require that the nature of the organization
(including spelling out acronyms) be defined. I actually think that
defining ARMA/AIIM as acronyms results in briefer explanations than
having to explain what it is that the organization does.

Sorry, Jesse, but that's my $0.02 worth!
