I believe privacy laws (in Canada)dictate that if you do not hire the
person, you can only keep the resume with their express permission and
even then just for 3 months.

We retain ours for 2 years - if the applicant is hired, the application
becomes part of their Personnel File. We retain our Personnel Files for
Active+6.
