Jennifer -- since you are dealing specifically with medical records, I'd
recommend you start with the American Health Information Management
Association (AHIMA) - go here  http://www.ahima.org/infocenter/ to check
out their Practice Briefs and Tools.  You don't mention what state you
are in, but there will be a corresponding state association you can also
check with, and they can provide a lot of information, too.  The state
info will be more pertinent in terms of retention, release of
information, etc. according to your particular state rules and regs.
