Tom--
Having worked (and lived) in Las Vegas, and most of the time without a car
(if you can believe that) I got around on foot - and bus - pretty well. Of
course, everyone thought I was a crazy Northeasterner for even considering
walking anywhere. For a city built on the automobile, they have a plethora
of well maintained sidewalks. Yes it is a long walk to Hofbrau Haus, but
walking from a casino to the street is in itself a hefty walk. I say make
the most of the walk and turn it into a pub crawl!

On the problematic side
- it is not within walking distance of the convention center or the
hilton. So you will need a cab or you can carpool
