I'm confused.
Aren't electronic records by their very nature already digitized?
Or am I just not hip to the lingo archivists use?

On the archival side of things, we thought that digitization might be
more of an issue. Archivists have an interest in making records
available to a wider audience than just those who can visit the
repository, so it is in their best interest to digitize as many records
as possible. Of course, once that is done they will face similar issues
of preservation, migration, etc.
