Has anyone out there in listserv land noted an impact on server space
when e-mail management systems are implemented: specifically systems
which allow for categorization of e-mail (both automatic/manual) into
groupings to which retention periods, legal holds, and disposition
decisions can be applied?

My suspicion is that the initial impact will be an increase in server
space (depending on how the system is implemented), followed eventually
by a leveling off, and, if lucky, an actual drop. At a minimum, I would
expect such systems to slow the growth of demand of server space related
to e-mails over time. If this is the case, there would appear to be some
potential ROI on implementing such systems, just based on savings in
server space.

Has anyone documented such ROI from this scenario, or seen a reduction
in server space demand from such systems?
